Bella's progress
01st September 2007
Well, it's now 14 days exactly since Bella was rushed to the vet's to undergo 4½ hours of life saving surgery, & I'm glad to be able to report that apart from a few minor problems, she now seems to be on the
mend, although the stress of all this has brought on a new bout of furunculosis on her leg. This time we're treating it with antibiotics and an external cream to see if we can get rid of it.
She has just had all but 1 of her stitches removed from her abdomen and I am beginning to feel that I can relax a little in the hope that she is completely restored to health with no apparent signs of organ damage.
She is eating normally ( inasmuch as Bella eats normally ), ie picks at her feed and takes about 15 -20 minutes to eat it, but at least she isn't wolfing it down which would apparently predispose her getting bloat again.
So far so good, I will post an update soon and hope that she will be fully recovered, although she will never be a really well or fit dog, but at least she is having a much better life now than she had before I got her.
Thanks for your interest, Dave
